Not important, but a little more about me…

My Favorite books :

I learned a lot since starting my career as a CPA at Arthur Andersen running multi-faceted billion-dollar audits. Auditing pension plans, & SEC, & FCC audits sent me all over the US before realizing my passion was presenting business efficiencies to clients. This was the first foreshadowing of my passionate focus on simplification-using my forensic skills.

My career roles have demanded a high level of collaboration across multiple disciplines to synchronize & simplify. My role as a Senior Financial Analyst for Kraft Heinz, demanded me to collaborate to consolidate multi-divisional long-range plans. I progressed to a national law firm to help win a large fraud case with my forensic skills. Later, as a Senior Financial Analyst at Coca-Cola, Inc., & Time Warner, I honed my financial skills overseeing their long-range plans for large divisions. In all my Senior Analyst roles, I led the cross-functional financial synchronization of marketing, accounting, legal, finance, & long-term planning.

I set myself apart as an outlier throughout my career. Early on, I was curious to learn all I could & interact with entrepreneurial thinkers to learn how to think creatively. I earned the trust & respect of Harvard-educated, top litigator-Joel Africk, ; he wrote a letter of recommendation-for my work-to help get me off the wait list at Emory School of Law.

While I raised my only child, I invested in & became intimately familiar with every type of investment from MUNIs, REITs, & MLPs, & international currencies to stocks & corporate bonds. I was one of the top women international currency traders in US at GAIN Capital in my self-employment as a professional-level currency trader.

I am equally committed to being impactful in the community. I have passionately aligned my values with my “WHYs”. When my brother’s son was diagnosed with leukemia, Make-A-Wish Missouri granted him a wish that helped him gain the strength to fight leukemia. This led me, as a volunteer, to be the passionate force behind a team of women in Colorado that launched Make-A-Wish Colorado’s “Walk for Wishes”. This event has raised over $500k to grant kids wishes with life-changing illnesses. I also launched a “Wish Week” at my son’s high school-which continues to be a legacy of giving & collaborative community building.

Most recently, I helped raise money for Make-A-Wish Colorado’s “Wish Hero Campaign” to inspire others with the story of my nephew’s wish to live like a Navy Seal & triumph over leukemia. I also volunteered at Craig Hospital after my divorce to keep me grounded as I had a life altering back injury I was fortunate to recover from.

A midwestern native, I have fallen in love with Colorado and have raised my son here, with my then CFO husband for 18 years, married for 22 years before divorcing. I credit my parents for modeling habits of gratitude, relentless pursuit of knowledge, fortitude & resourcefulness. I enjoy hot yoga, reading voraciously, & the beach. I deeply miss my dog Pepsi who was a favorite at Make-A-Wish CO events. I prioritize travel to visit friends & family as I consider this a crucial part of health & wealth.

I graduated Cum Laude from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a BS in Accountancy & I passed the CPA exam that same year.
